Having despatched his own penalty, he proceeded to dance a little jig in front of the six thousand Evertonians packed behind the goal - thus keeping Ashley Cole waiting for a good half minute before he could take his penalty. Then, on the walk back to the centre circle, Heitinga shoved Cole and gave him a little verbal.
Cole's resultant penalty, miles high and well wide, was the product of a tormented and confused soul.
